Mom's Little Helper

"Look Mom, I'm helping!" Mattie decided to "help" me out with his laundry. He tipped the basket over so the clothes were easier for me to get, and then handed me the hangers. He also thought it was funny to spread his clothes all over his room and unfold anything that I folded.

My Little Toddler

I like this picture because he looks so much like a little toddler from behind when he is standing.

Step Fun

I don't know what it is about this step, but Mattie LOVES playing on it! He brings his toys and bangs them on the step, he crawls all over it, he just has a blast with it!

Jumping Bean

Mattie had a fun and relaxing afternoon playing with his toys and jumping in his Jumperoo. Altough, he doesn't like to jump as much now that he can crawl, he would rather be exploring his surroundings and getting into any and everything.

Good Morning Everyone!

Mattie had a ball playing in Jazzy and BB's bed today. As you can see, Jazzy didn't like the idea too much of having her bed invaded, and she made it known. However, Mattie just thought the whole thing was a game and laughed and laughed at the frustrated Jazzy.

Sleep Time

You know he's tired if he is willing to sleep in his bouncy seat!

Pack n' Play Baby

So, if Mattie liked his crib as much when he's asleep as when he's awake, we'd be set! He has fun standing and playing in it, but that's about it!

Let's Swing!

Mattie used to not like his swing. He was barely in it when he was younger. I decided to see what he would do in it now after several months of not using it, and he got a kick out of it! He liked swinging while watching me cook dinner. He is practically too big for it now, though. I think he will love a baby swing in the backyard on our swingset this spring/summer.

Dinner with Mom and Dad

MMMM...YUM! Mattie had fun dining with Mom and Dad last night. We had homemade meatloaf and mashed potatoes, perfect comfort food for the cold cold weather. Mattie loved the mashed potatoes! He ate mac n' cheese and beef, both the baby food version. He hated both! Now he likes to eat whatever he sees us eating. He gets so excited when he sees us eating anything, and makes it known that he wants to try some.

Basket-Case Baby

Mattie has soooo much fun with a laundry basket! He throws his toys in it, stands up on it, scoots it around. He loves being in it and popping up to say hello. He laughs so hard when he's pushed around in it on the floor. It is the cutest thing in the world!

My Big Little Man

Yeah! He's 8 months old today! Where does the time go? I would have never imagined that being a mom could be so rewarding. Being his mom is the best experience that I could ever go through and I wouldn't change it for anything. I love watching him learn and explore. He is just so amazing, I can't help but smile when I even think about him!

Bath Time Baby

He just didn't want to leave his rubber ducky in the tub. He has several different bath time toys, and every time he takes a bath he has a new favorite (usually to eat).

Say Hello to My Little Friend

Notice the little snowman on the deck. Mattie got a big kick out of it. It confused him when he touched it, but then he loved talking to it on the deck.

Future Climber

So, anything and everything that can be climbed on or over, Mattie climbs. He climbs over anybody sitting on the floor, over his toys, he even tries to climb stairs. His bouncy seat is now used for climbing up onto as well. He is such an adventurous baby!

Here Comes the Tickle Bug

Mattie LOVES being tickled. He has such a cute laugh, his whole face lights up. It melts my heart to see and hear him laugh. His most ticklish spots are his armpits, neck, tummy and legs.

Teeth

Well, they do usually come in pairs. Mattie is getting his second top tooth now (his sixth tooth!). As if his bites didn't already hurt!

Nap Time

Babies always look so precious when they sleep! I could watch him sleep for hours! He seems so peaceful, I wonder if he dreams.

New Territory

Mattie went on an adventure today and crawled into the kitchen. He usually stays in the living room with all of his toys, but he decided it was time to explore down the hallway and into the kitchen. He had fun discovering new things to use to help him stand up, like the dishwasher.

Yum

Matt made the best beef stew I have ever had today! It cooked for 8 hours in the crockpot, and was sooooo good! I can't wait for leftovers tomorrow!

Mattie gets a kick out of wearing Daddy's Burton hat. He'll pull it over his eyes, and then peek back out.

Tent Time

Matt decided to set up one of his tents in the living room for the bean to crawl around in. Mattie got a big kick out of it! He loved watching it be set up and taken down.

Robbery

Something very scary happened yesterday to my mom. She works at Bank of America, and yesterday morning she was robbed at gunpoint. A man handed her a note stating that she was being robbed, he had a gun and would use it, and to put 100's, 50's and 20's in a plastic bag he provided. She did as she was supposed to, gave him what he wanted, and as soon as he walked out, she pulled the alarm and locked the doors. Thankfully no one was hurt. My mom spent the rest of the day talking to police, FBI, and bank counselors. She didn't seem too shook up, and is holding up wonderfully. She is so strong, and I really look up to her for that. I'm just glad she is okay. It really makes you think that anything could happen at anytime, and we should enjoy life everyday!

Toys

What do you play with when you have a ton of toys? The Blinds! Mattie's favorite things to play with include blinds, remote controllers, shoes, and cell phones.

Peek-A-Boo

Mattie LOVES playing peek-a-boo, and he loves looking over the couch to see what is going on. He holds on to the back and jumps up and down, laughing and smiling the whole time.

Car Ride

I remember when Mattie HATED the car and his car seat. It is so nice now to drive places without him crying. I felt so bad that he was so upset. Now, he loves looking out the window, and playing with his car "friends".

Cribby

Why is that Mattie doesn't mind being in his crib during the day, but at night it is his worst enemy?! He was up literally every 45 minutes last night! Needless to say, Mattie and I were both exhausted today. Hopefully his tooth won't be bothering him as much tonight and we can both get some much needed sleep.

Snow

So, we finally got our first real snow storm last night. It snowed 8 inches. It's no Colorado snow storm, but it was still enough to make traffic a nightmare.

Story Time

Mattie enjoys having stories read to him almost as much as he enjoys eating the books!

They grow so fast, it's amazing! It seems like yesterday that we brought him home, and now he has a personality, is crawling, he is a little man! He is practically too big for his bouncy seat now!

Bumbo Bucket

Mattie discovered a new game of one-by-one putting his toys in his bumbo seat, then getting them back out to inspect, only to put them back in.

Puppy Time

Mattie had fun playing tug of war with Jazzy. Jazzy kept bringing toys for Mattie and her to play with, it was too cute!

So, I had a feeling, but it was confirmed tonight...Mattie is cutting his fifth tooth! It is his first top tooth! Now his bites will REALLY hurt!
