Mattie has fun playing the keyboard with Dad. He really likes turning it on and off, climbing on top of it, and playing it.

Mattie's First Climbing Trip

Mattie went with Mommy, Daddy, and Aunt Brittney to Little Falls for his first climbing trip. We all had so much fun, and Bean loved being outside and playing with rocks.

It was a little colder than we anticipated when we first arrived, so Mattie wore Dad's shirt for some warmth. He looked like a little Yoda!

Pots and Pans

Mattie decided it would be fun to get into the pots and pans and spread them all over the kitchen. He liked banging a spoon on them to make lots of noise.

Mattie at the Zoo

Aunt Brittney, Mattie, and Mommy went to the zoo today-Mattie's very first time at the zoo ever! He had fun looking at all the animals, his favorite being the elephant, penguins, and the tigers.

Doctor's Visit

Mattie had his one year check-up today, and he is doing great! He is 30" tall, and weighs 20.3 lbs, which makes him in the 50% for height and the 10% for weight. He had three shots today, and he didn't cry for any of them...he is my brave little man!! Although, he did not like it one bit when they had to draw his blood. I still can't believe he is one already!

Recovery

As you can see here, Mattie is feeling a lot better than yesterday. He is moving around better and his appetite is almost back to normal. He is still sore, but I imagine he will be sore for awhile.

Poor Bean

Mattie is doing as well as can be expected after surgery. He slept well last night, most likely due to all the pain medicine and the ordeal of the whole day. You can tell he is sore because he doesn't really move, he just lays there and wimpers ocassionally, it breaks my heart. I propped him on his boppy and he watched his Baby Einstein DVD, and he is pretty much going to hang out and relax today. If I could go through this for him I would in a heartbeat. My poor little bean.

Big Boy Car Seat

Little did he know, but this was Mattie's last time in his infant car seat facing backwards. (He was talking on the phone)

Now he faces forward in his big boy car seat. He enjoyed looking out the windshield as we drove.

Mattie's Kansas Trip

Mattie and Mommy went to Kansas so he could meet his Uncle James, Aunt Lori, and his cousins Josh and Jordan. Aunt Julie was also able to come. He had soooo much fun. There are way too many pictures (122 to be exact) to post on the blog, so here are a few, and the rest can be seen via Snapfish.

Dog Food Fun

So, whenever Mattie manages to get to Jazzy and BB's food, he goes crazy. He will dump the whole plate on the ground, laugh, and then one by one pick the food up and put it back on the plate. He is real good about not eating the food. If he starts to put one in his mouth, I say "No Mattie" and he'll stop. Of course, I wouldn't let him do this without me watching as I'm sure a piece or two would end up in his mouth. He also has fun hand-feeding BB.

Mattie is so excited to meet his cousins, Josh and Jordan, that he insisted on wearing a Kansas shirt today! (He is "running" to try to get the camera)

Mattie had fun at the park today watching Dad fly his kites.
