Hmm, maybe if we spell the words out for Mattie he'll start saying them.....:)

Matthew decided he would only eat his breakfast while in his chair, and he had to be the one to move it to his desired location. :)

Matt, Brittney, Matthew, and I braved the cold to play around on the climbing wall.

Relaxin'

Matthew thoroughly enjoys his new arm chair. He will climb up and get comfy. I think he feels "important" to have his very own place to sit.

He'll become so relaxed that he will start to slide off, but he doesn't seem to mind.

Christmas Day

We definitely had a very Merry Christmas at Nana and Papa's house!

Nana and Papa before they were worn out from the bean, who seemed to have an endless supply of energy that day. :)

Papa cooked a yummy breakfast that even the picky eater Matthew ate.

Then came the fun part-watching Matthew open all of his presents, as well as any one's gift he could get his hands on. He insisted on opening Nana's present for her.

"Hey, focus on me today!!!" -Matthew

Now he won't have to color on our walls (although I have a feeling he still might have the urge to do so every now and then).

Matt was super amped to set up Mattie's power wheel. I think he secretly wished he could ride it :) .

"Wheeeeeee"

Papa and he must have played with the slot cars for an hour, and Mattie kicked his butt ... Papa claimed Matthew was cheating, but I just think he didn't like to be beat by a 19 month old :)

The three generations of men completely worn out from playing with all of Matthew's toys and sleepy from having a full tummy from the Christmas dinner.

Christmas Morning

We spent Christmas morning at home; I'm not sure who was more excited-Matthew or Mom and Dad. As soon as he woke up we brought him downstairs where he immediately went to his train set. Little did he know....there were many more fun things for him to open under the tree!

He was ecstatic when he found out there was more to open.

The blocks were a big hit, he wanted to play with them and not open any more gifts. (Thanks Aunt Ann!)

Matt was finally able to coax him to move on to other presents.

Merry Christmas Eve

Matthew is carrying on the tradition of opening one gift on Christmas eve, and he loved that it was his very first Thomas the Train set. He laughs when he makes the trains go down the hill and when he crashes them together. It did seem like Matt had as much if not more fun with the trains than Matthew did, he even played with the tracks after Matthew was in bed! :)

Matthew decided he didn't want to color on paper anymore, but rather the wall. I guess he felt our walls needed some pizazz; plain white walls can get to be pretty dull and boring after awhile. Maybe we should have him do the whole house to help liven it up....:). (Matt also helped with some of the "decorating").

Mommy Number 2

Matthew woke up this morning and missed seeing his Aunt Julie. After being here for 9 days he got used to waking her up to play with him. During her visit he even came to know her as "Mommy" :). I would be laying on the couch (surprise surprise) and ask him to bring something to Mommy, i.e. the TV controller, and even though he would be closer to me, he would pick it up and bring it to Julie! It was too cute! We both loved it, especially Julie who did basically act as his Mommy
while I was incapacitated. Thanks again for everything B!

I can't believe that just two weeks ago I was in the hospital feeling the worst that I have ever felt in my life! It was so hard to be away from Matthew for 6 days (He didn't even get to visit me while I was there but for one short 20 minute visit), but he was in good hands. I am finally starting to be able to interact and take care of him myself as of the last day or two, which is such a relief. I missed doing all of the "Mom" duties and all of the play times (not to mention being tired/annoyed of being so sick and so dependent on other people). Hopefully by Christmas I'll be back to my old self (sans the vertigo) and all of this will be behind us. I am just so thankful for everyone that helped Matt, Matthew, and me out these past two weeks (and I'm sure that will be continuing to help out for the next week or so :) ). We don't know what we would've done without everyone!

I want to let all of my blog fans know that my 4- year old camera has finally bit the dust which is why I haven't been blogging. I am hoping to get a new one soon (like for Christmas..hint hint hint :) ) so I can commence blogging again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
