Matthew's Colorado Trip and His New Best Friend Cosette

Matthew visited Colorado for the first time and met his new best friend, Cosette. Overall he was well behaved on the plane rides, but he did have "his own" IPod to play with.

He took instantly to Matt, Erin, and Cosette. You could tell the kids were fascinated with each other right away.

He was a nutball the whole time we were visiting.

At first I thought Matthew and Cosette would do more parallel playing, but they actually played together from the beginning. They were always interested in what the other one was doing.

They loved to be in the same spot/room as each other, even if that meant they had to share a chair!

Here Cosette was being Motherly to Matthew and trying to feed him his sippy. :)

The Daddies took the kids Poudre Canyon one morning while the Mommies had a day of the gym, lunch and shopping. Everyone had a fun day!
Both munckins enjoyed the 3 mile hike with the Dads.

Matthew was able to take in the beautiful, majestic scenerey at El Dorado Canyon.

Two Jumping Beans on the couch :).

They both liked to ride this horse, and they were so good at taking turns.

I love this picture of Cosette, she looks so elegant as she gets off the horse, like a little lady.

They really shared so well, no one tried to be more aggressive than the other, it was so amazing to watch! It was like they were best friends instantly!

They would just sit and play together for long periods of time, both interesed in what the other one was doing.

The Mommies took the cuties to the city park one sunny afternoon and they would both make sure they had the other one in eye sight the whole time.

I know Matthew misses his friend Cosette, it seemed like he was looking for her today. He hopes to see her soon!

My, My, What Big Feet You Have!

One of Matthew's newest activities is wearing Mommy or Daddy's shoes. He can actually walk in them pretty well once he gets his feet in them!

The newest addition to the Meckstroth Clan- Madison. Congratulations Jenna!

Nice Kitty

Matthew loves his kitty, Callie. He'll give her "hugs" (which is just him laying on her like she is a pillow) and pats her head. Poor Callie seems to be petrified whenever he "hugs" her, yet she doesn't move; she'll just let him do what he wants. Even when he gets up off her she doesn't run away, she'll just walk a little and then stop to watch him, which just gives him the opportunity to "hug" her again, and he'll take advantage of any chance to love on his kitty.

Now that's what I call passing out on the couch!

Matthew having fun using chalk on the driveway. I just hope he doesn't think that he can draw with chalk on any floor! :)

Terrible Twosome

So, I leave the house for one hour, with all of the toys neat and tidy and everything in it's place, and come back to discover that it looks like a tornado came through and wrecked the place! No, it was just Matthew and Daddy being complete mess-makers. How did the changing pad, which is kept upstairs and we don't even use anymore, end up downstairs on the living room floor?! And why is the easel in the kitchen?! I swear, I can't leave the two of them alone for two minutes without them getting into trouble! :)

Matthew's new favorite activity-coloring!

Great Nana and Matthew had fun "playing" dominos, which consisted of dumping them out of the container and then putting them back in over and over again.

Reunited and it feels so good

Matthew was beside himself to be able to play with "his" puppas Jazzy and BB after a long separation. I'm not sure who likes the cow toy better, Jazzy or Mattie!

Jazzy waits patiently for Matthew to throw the toy so she can fetch it.

BB tends to keep his distance from Matthew most of the time, but you can tell he still loves him.

The Balance Bean

Matthew wanted to attempt the daring act of walking on a "balance beam". He starts off strong...

Uh Oh, is he about to fall....

No, he pulls through for a smooth finish and takes home the gold!

Matthew's Day of Play

Matthew and Mommy stayed home all day yesterday and played, played, and played! We went from one toy to the next and then started all over again. First, Matthew decided he wanted to play with Daddy's change jar. He dumped it out, then put it back in the jar, and then dumped it out, and put it back...I think you can see the cycle :).

Boy am I glad the days of putting everything in his mouth are over!

Second, it was on to the vehicle puzzle (Thanks Matt, Erin, and Cosette!).

Who knew one could get such joy from watching a car go around and around on a track?! :)

He loves watching the car knock down the little signs and cones.

After playing with the little car, he decided he wanted to play with the cars from his garage.

He discovered that the cars could be pushed down the hallway, amazing!

It takes intense concentration when putting the people in the cars to push around.

"OOOHHHH" (He says this a lot)

He then got a twinge from his artistic side and decided it was time to color with his color wonder markers. (although, he did spend about as much time taking the markers in and out of the package as he did actually coloring).

What would be a day of play without busting out the Thomas trains?!

He likes to build his own track for the trains, hmmm...engineer? :)

He is very good about taking the track apart and cleaning up when he is finished playing with it.

Who could ask for a better day?! I know I had as much if not more fun than the little man!
