4th of July

We had an enjoyable 4th of July yesterday. First, I took Matthew to the park where he played on the playground and then rode the tram (which I didn't realize was 1 hour long!). Then, we went over to Nana and Papa's for a cook-out. After that we met up with Bill, Candice, Billy, Sam, and Savanna at the fairgrounds for fireworks.

We got there about two hours early, but the time really flew by due to the fact that we amused ourselves by watching the kids play. The boys had the best time playing in Nana and Papa's car.

Matthew was just so excited to be able to play with Sam and Billy again. He missed them since last weekend.

They hung out before the fireworks and chowed down on some popcorn.

The kids had the best seats in the house!

I was a little worried how Matthew would do with Sparklers, but he was excellent and never even tried to touch the spark.

Papa was nice and bought the boys glow necklaces, which was a big hit.

When the fireworks started Matthew was a little unsure. They were loud and he would watch them but only if he was cuddled up on Dad.

As the show went on he became more and more interested in them.

By the end his fear had subsided and he would yell "boom boom" when they went off. He liked sitting in Brittney's lap to watch the finale (no, she isn't hurt, she's just using the wheel chair as a place to sit).

Boom!
