Camping at The Gunks

We took Matthew (and Lily) to the Gunks for some camping/bouldering. It was cold, but we all had a blast, especially Matthew-who just loves to camp. We got there late Friday evening and Matthew had fun helping Matt start a fire.

Poor Lily was cold so we would keep her warm by wrapping her up in our coats.

Despite it being in the 20's Friday night, we stayed warm in the tent cuddeled up in sleeping bags and blankets. At least it didn't snow!

Good morning-can you tell we just woke up?!

To warm up Saturday morning we went on a walk. We became nastalgic as we visited past campsites from other trips.

While Matt bouldered, Matthew took it upon himself to clean the rocks with little brushes. He felt very important to be helping out. :)

Lily loved being in the woods and stayed nice and warm wearing her little sweatshirt and fleece.

Matt's first session of the day was his nemesis 'Out of the Ashes'. Unfortunatly he was unable to finish the problem, but has high hopes that on his next visit he will conquer it.

Matthew chilled while he watched Matt boulder.

We had a mishap with Matthew's backpack carrier-he was sitting in it in the parking lot and fell forward face first, slightly scraping his nose and lip-thus making it a torture carrier for him that he wanted nothing to do with. But, who needs a child carrier when a crash pad works just as well?

We stopped at the Wawarsing Boulder on our way home for Matt to get in a few more climbs.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a good Turkey day and we hope everyone else did as well. Matthew ate some Thanksgiving food this year-unlike last year in which he refused to eat any of the dinner. We had fun playing and relaxing at Papa and Nana's after we stuffed ourselves silly.

He was the first at the table and anxious to chow down on the yummy food.

The tripdaphan seemed to have an immediate affect on Matt and Matthew, so they took a rest after eating to let the food digest.

Matthew recovered quickly from his food-induced rest and had fun making the Nutcrackers talk.
Papa and the bean built cool robots out of Legos -which Matthew is obsessed with right now :)

Matthew played so much he needed another break, so he relaxed on Papa this time while they watched some TV.
He still had enough energy left at the end of the day to play cards with Nana.

We've been pretty low-key around here lately, basically just hanging out. Today Matthew decided he wanted to have his chair on the floor where he buckled himself in for a snack. Such a cutie-pie :)

Matthew had a fun outing last night with Aunt Brittney and Mommy. We went to Chuck E. Cheese to party the night away :). He just loves the games, "rides", and of course winning tickets to pick out a super cool prize-like a slimy green frog.
