Matt and I snuck into the Bean's room last night to see how he was doing in his sleeping bag. He was all sprawled out amidst his stuffed animals with all of his blankets on him-it was so cute I had to risk waking him by taking a picture :)

I seem to be going "blog crazy" lately-it's not hard to tell I'm going stir crazy :). Anyway, Matthew had another busy/fun day playing with new toys. He has a tiger sleeping bag that he thinks is the neatest thing-he even decided that he wanted to go to sleep in it tonight instead of his bed. He played in it a ton this afternoon and kept finding activities he could do while being able to stay in the sleeping bag, such as reading books or playing dominoes. (Thanks Aunt Lori and Uncle James-definitely a big hit!)
Mattme loves to bake with me so we made a cake this afternoon. He asked his Wall-E if he wanted to help and I guess he said yes because Matthew insisted on having him on the counter.
We decided to read more books while the cake was in the oven. The bean still LOVES to read (or rather have me read to him). His current favorites are a Wall-E book, a book with different nursery rhymes, Where the Wild Things Are, and The Very Hungary Caterpillar-just to name a few. Actually, now that I think about it, he just loves any book that I'll read to him.
Present time! He got an added bonus this afternoon by being able to open even more Christmas gifts from Grammy and Grandpa. And he thought Christmas was over-ha! :)
When Matt got home he helped Matthew build a huge train track wih his new pieces/trains. Matthew was anxious to try out his new battery-powered Thomas train.
34 Week Sono
I had an unexpected sono today due to the fact that my belly hadn't grown since my previous appointment 3 weeks ago-the doctor just wanted to make sure the baby was growing as she should be. Everything is fine, most likely it was just due to the way the baby was positioned. She is measuring right at 34 weeks and is a healthy 5 lbs :). Just like all the other times, she had her hands up at her mouth so we couldn't get a full picture of her face, but there are cute ones of her sucking her thumb-the second picture is showing her thumb going into her mouth.

Matthew had a pretty relaxing weekend hanging out and playing with new toys. We're sad that the holidays are basically over. Matthew will still see some toy commercial and say he wants it for Christmas, so I remind him that it's over and he'll have to wait until next year. Of course, now is the countdown to baby! My due date is only 6 weeks away. The bean and I talk about his new sister everyday. I'm still not sure how much he comprehends, but he does seem excited to have a little sister. He likes to play with my big belly and laughs when he sees it move all by itself :)

Now that Matthew has the proper snow gear, he can play out in the snow for longer periods of time. I thought he would like his sled more but he was a little weary of it. He didn't want to be pulled too fast or over any big bumps. He started to get used to it after a little while and I'm sure he'll get lots of enjoyment out of it once he realizes how much fun it can be. He had the most fun shoveling, throwing snowballs, and helping Dad build a snow fort. Too bad it's rainy and a high of 55 today otherwise we would be back outside enjoying the (soon to be melted) Winter Wonderland :)

Christmas!
A fun time was had by all on Christmas day. Matthew completely wore himself out, as did everyone else. We spent the day opening presents, eating good food, playing with new toys and fun games and just having a nice time. I'm sad that it's all over for another year....
Of course, nothing is funner than playing with the real thing. Why would anyone want to play with toy drill bits when you have real ones at your disposal?!
He (we) were completely spent by the evening, it was nice to just lay down and relax. Matthew even sat through the entire movie "Wall-E", which Matt and I both thought was adorable. (I was so sure he was going to fall asleep during the movie, I would have even put money on it, but he stayed awake to watch the adventures of Eve and Wall-E).
Christmas Morning
I know I have already said this, but holidays are really so much more fun when you have a little one! Matthew woke up Christmas morning and was excited for what awaited him. However, when we were at the top of the stairs getting ready to come down I said that we had to go see if Santa came-bad idea! The thought of scary Santa being in our house did not sit well with him and he didn't want to go downstairs. I told him it was okay, that Santa wasn't here but he did leave gifts for him. He finally let me carry him down and as soon as he realized he was "safe" he got all excited and began his tearing into presents.
