Matt's parents threw Matt and me a super nice baby shower this afternoon which was a lot of fun. His mom really went all out with the decorations and it all looked so sweet/nice. I never had a shower when I was pregnant with Matthew so it really meant a lot to me that I was able to have one this time around. Thank you so much!

We played a couple of games, read some interesting baby myths (i.e. if you go swimming on the first day that you get married you will have twins!), and ate yummy chili and cake. It was nice to be around family and have a good time.

I can't believe that I'm already 39 weeks pregnant (well, I will be in one day). I'm so anxious to meet her and I imagine everyone else feels the same way.

I'm so happy that Great Nana is able to share in all of this with us and I greatly look forward to seeing her hold her first great-granddaughter for the first time.

Matthew definitely didn't have a lack of attention this afternoon-he even got to stay and hang out with Papa, Nana, and Great Nana after Mom and Dad left, meaning that he had a super fun day as well :)

He loved that there were gifts for him as well and not just for his sister-whom sometimes he doesn't want and sometimes he is excited for :).

He loved his new robot, even Matt enjoyed playing with it and learning all of the cool tricks that it does. (It's actually really complicated and does a ton of stuff-I still haven't figured it all out!)

Baby Stuff!!!!!

Matthew instantly became interested in the baby's car seat and wanted to check it all out. I truly feel he is going to be an awesome big brother.

Papa always has time to be silly with the Bean. Today they had a blast popping balloons and just being goofballs together.

Thank you so much everyone for making us feel so special and thank you for all of the wonderful gifts (Brittney was there even though unfortunately I don't have a picture-sorry Britt :( )

Matthew and Daddy had fun making pizza bagels last night.

Matthew was adorable "talking" on a bluetooth headset. He would inform me that I needed to be quiet so he could talk and then have a conversation with someone (this time he told me he was talking to Grandpa). He would talk about his day and what was going on at the time and even respond as if someone were really talking to him-so cute!

My Peanut decided to dance around in his boots last night, saying he was a robot and just being a silly little man. I love that he is such a happy little fellow; it is so much fun to be around him :)

Last night, for whatever reason, Matthew decided he wanted to sleep on the floor in his room! I really would love to know what went on in his head sometimes :)

Random: Completely on his own yesterday evening the bean decided he wanted to pee-pee in his potty. I didn't even know what he was doing until he was done and came and showed me. (he does it now and then, but usually with my encouragement) I was waiting until after the baby was born to really focus on his potty training, but I guess he is ready to really delve into it now-hey, it will be nice to only have one child in diapers! Yay for Matthew!

Redecorating-Part 2

Nana, Papa, and Great Nana came over today to finish up the room. Matthew loved having Great Nana over to play with him this time and he once again "helped" with his room.

Yay- I was able to help out today more than just move light stuff around! I helped measure and draw the outlines up for the stripes.

Matthew showed off his Wall-E robot to Papa as well as showing him his other toys that were piled in our room.

Once again, thank you Nana so much for all of the work you have done!

Great Nana even came up every so often to see how everything was coming along.

Matthew had Great Nana sit on the floor and play with him, which of course she didn't mind one bit :)

The bean was a big helper with the stripes and did a good job helping to erase the marks.

What a mess!

Proof that Matt did help with the room at one point! :) (He put two screws in the wall to hang a mirror)

Nana was busy painting the stripes all afternoon. They turned out really well-I'm sooo happy with how the room turned out!

Nana painted this special robot painting for Matthew which is absolutely adorable. She even glued on a few real pieces which make it look even neater. Matthew has it over his bed and likes to show it off to people.

A 'pre-after' picture. I still need to move his toys, books and stuff back into the room and then I'll put up the real 'after' pictures of the room. Then, we just need to add a new baby to make the room complete :)

Redecorating-Part 1

So, as sad as I am to change up Matthew's room, we are redecorating it so it will be good for both Matthew and the baby. Matthew is excited to have his room redone and wanted to help out however he could.

Here are some 'before' pictures. Matthew had fun running around his room saying "before" while I was taking the pictures.

While Nana painted (which we appreciate so much-she is doing all of the work and it is turning out beautifully!) Matthew spent the afternoon playing. Of course he had to play trains with Papa-he loved having someone different to build tracks with him.

He desperately wanted to help Nana paint, but settled with peeking in on her every now and then. Here he is pointing to the colors of the room.

Our room is a complete disaster with all of his stuff in it, which he and I had fun playing with throughout the day. He informed me that he wants to keep all of his toys in our room from now on-yeah right!

Nana painted the afternoon away. It's hard to tell in this picture, but the ceiling is a really pretty light blue.

Matthew and I read a ton of books on our bed-which he gets to sleep in tonight due to the fact that his room is torn up-needless to say, he is super psyched about that :)
He always loves to color with me, even though I have absolutely no talent whatsoever :)
As Nana was finishing up for the day, he played cars with Papa and Daddy. He is so overtired right now from his busy day of running all around the house keeping tabs on what everyone was doing. I'll be posting 'after' pictures as soon as the room is done :)

Now that's what I call lounging! :)

Choo-Choo

Matthew and I had fun with his Thomas trains this morning. We may not build huge tracks like Matt and include every single piece, but we have just as much fun :)

Stress Reliever

Whenever I'm feeling stressed and overwhelmed, like I have been all day today, all I have to do is take a look at the Bean's adorable face and I feel so much better. How could I not smile when he is making such a cute face and comes over and gives me a big hug and kiss?!

Sunday, January 4, 2009

This is the silly face of a big boy! Matthew pooped in the potty for the first time yesterday-woohoo!!! We are so proud of him and it was cute to see how proud of himself he was.

More Snow Fun

Matthew played out in the snow again this afternoon. He stomped around, rode in a sled, and played in a snow cave Matt made for him. He really would stay outside for hours if it were up to him, despite the cold.
