The Oneida Lake Adventure

We had an interesting day yesterday. Papa decided to take his boat up to Oneida Lake for some tubing/swimming/cruising. Matthew, Matt, and Papa drove the boat up through the lock and then Nana, Meredith and I met them on the lake. We drove around for a bit, found a restaurant on the lake and had lunch, and then got back into the boat for some tubing, which Matthew was looking forward to. So, Matt was driving the boat to a prime tubing location and accidentally drove through shallow water damaging the out-drive. The boat then would only move at 3 MPH. So Matt and Papa limped the boat to one marina where Matt met a friend who was nice enough (and luckily had a hitch on his car) to drive Matt all the way to Papa's house to get the boat trailer and drive back up to get the boat. Meanwhile, Papa and Nana had to paddle the boat across the channel to a boat launch. We all then hung out at the launch for a couple of hours waiting for Matt and his friend. Matthew, Meredith and I didn't mind, we had fun getting sun and hanging out on the boat. Hey, we wanted to spend the day on the lake, it just didn't happen the way we planned it ;).
