Gorgeous Charleston, SC

We took full advantage of being in such a beautiful city by spending the better part of a day exploring.  Tracy and Carrie were even able to join in on the fun and spend more time with us.  One of my favorite things to do in Charleston is the carriage tour.  Matthew was excited about the horses, however he promptly fell asleep when the tour started and slept through the whole thing.

Merebear stayed asleep cozied up to Grammy for the first half of the tour

Cobblestone streets are great

The infamous Calhoun mansion.

This gazebo at the battery is second to Vegas as the most popular destination wedding location.  It is currently having some repairs done to it.

The homes in Charleston are some of my all time favorite.  They have such character and warmth.  A silly dream of mine would be to one day own a home in this historic city

Peeking around to see what is going on....she must have been bored by what she saw because she went right back to sleep

The "welcoming" looking fence was built during the civil war and was designed to keep their slaves in and other slaves out.  It is illegal now to change the fence, as it is part of the history.  This particular house has the most dramatic spikes in the whole city.

After the tour, we walked around the city to check out the market and fun shops.

To end the fun day we dined at a local restaurant, TBonez.  It was great to get to spend quality time with everyone, especially the relatives from Ohio that we don't get the chance to see very often.
