Little Miss Laura

Matthew and Meredith have a new playmate-Laura.  She is a polite, adorable, sweet, fun little three-year old that is going to be hanging out with us during the days now.  The kids are beyond thrilled to have Laura here to run and play with.  There was no sitting-still the whole time she was over-it was great! :)

Matthew and I had a discussion about all of the things he was going to be able to do when he got bigger "just like Mommy and Daddy".  Here are a few of the things he was super amped for: (mind you, these were some of the ideas that came out of his mouth )

1) Cook food on the stove
2) Clean with chemicals
3) Drive a car
4) Change the litter box
5) Cut things with a power saw
6) Take a shower all by himself
7) Watch scary shows and movies
8) Go to a work-job like Daddy (for some reason he says Daddy goes to a 'work-job')
9) Ride a big-boy bike without training wheels
10) Have his very own cell phone that he could use to send text messages

We talked at length about this topic, these were just a few of the ones I could recall. I do so very much enjoy and cherish our little talks together :)

Meredith is really getting into her pushy toy.  Matthew likes to walk next to her, it's super adorable to watch

More Fishing Adventures

We went fishing again this weekend, although for some reason we seem to always go on cold, rainy days.  Matthew wore his rain boots so he could stand in the shallow water, which he thought was super exciting

The Big Six-Zero

Papa turned the big 60 on Thursday, so we threw him a shin-dig to celebrate the big event

The guys decided it was time to start cleaning out Brittney and Aykut's pool.  I'm still amazed that the disgusting, green, mucky frog infested (well, one frog) water turns into clean, swimmable water.  I just wish I hadn't seen the 'before-water'

Matthew was thrilled when it was cupcake and present time

Papa thought the musical SpongeBob card that Matthew picked out for him was super neat, but not as special as the card Matthew painted special for him

High-Five!

Brittney's neighbor was kind enough to let Matthew play with their Better-Batter Baseball toy, creating tons of fun for the Bean, Brittney, and Papa as well as us on-lookers

The guys enjoyed celebratory cigars
