I've developed a green thumb and am now on a mission to have a beautiful yard with nice landscaping.  I actually find it relaxing and therapeutic to work on the yard, plus getting some sun is a bonus.  Matthew helps me out a lot with things like pulling weeds and mowing the lawn (he pushes his toy mower while I mow :) )

It's so peaceful to sit by the fire and listen to the waterfall after a long day of working in the yard

Meredith's Lovely New Room

I must admit that I had a lot of fun doing Meredith's room.  I wanted to center the room around the quilt my Mom made for her when she was born and I've always loved the color purple.  Nana used the quilt as inspiration for some cute paintings.  I really like how her room turned out and I hope she likes it too ;)

Matthew's New Room

Much to Matthew's delight, we painted his yellow room blue.  When it was yellow he would tell me every night before bed that he didn't like his room because it was yellow.  Matthew and I went to a bunch of different stores so he could pick out the bedding/decor that he liked best.  After I convinced him that a SpongeBob themed room was not a good idea, he chose to go with the car/truck theme.  Nana showed her artistic talent once again and painted two super cute paintings for his wall.  I am especially pleased with how well his room turned out :)

Good Family Times

As I mentioned before, Matthew was just thrilled to have Grammy and Grandpa at his house.  He made sure to show Grandpa all of the neat things, such as the pond and his big boy bike.

All of the guys plus one Lily dog

Grandpa was more than happy to build Lego's with the Bean

What would a visit with Grammy and Grandpa be without roasting marshmallows?!  Our back patio is ideal for a fire pit, so Grandpa set one up for us and we all had fun roasting marshmallows.  It was a nice way to end Matthew's super great birthday celebration

Our Matthew is 4!

Wow, is it already that time again to post about Matthew's birthday?!  OMG-he is a 'kid' now!  And what an awesome kid he is too.  Grammy and Grandpa drove up to celebrate his birthday with him (and to visit with everyone and see our new house).  It was a complete surprise for him, despite the countless times that we had accidentally talked about their visit in front of him-oops.  We could not have asked for better weather nor better company.  This was the first time that both complete sets of grandparents have been together with the kids-so super special!  Matthew was in heaven having four of his absolute favorite people in the world together and focusing on him.  That alone was the best birthday gift for him.  If you asked him though, he would name one of the many new toys that he received (thank you everyone!).

Lily was absolutely exhausted due to all of the people and commotion.  Grandpa fell in love with Lily right away, as he does have a soft spot for IGs.  It took her a little longer to warm up to him...she is such a timid little baby :)

Matthew knew exactly how to plug in and work the digital picture frame Grandpa gave him.  I think it is so neat that he goes to bed every night watching past memories.

We all enjoyed sandwiches, dip, and cake out in the bright sunshine.  It really was the best having everyone together
