Halloween!!!

We had an awesome Halloween in Raleigh, complete with superb weather and way too much candy (well, can one ever have too much candy?!)  Grammy did an unbelievably wonderful job on Matthew and Meredith's costumes and I was so thankful that she took time to make them as it was so special for them.  Matthew was Luke Skywalker and Meredith was Dorthy.

Thank you tons for the incredible costumes Grammy :)

Matthew was ready to battle storm troopers, Darth Vader, and anyone else that got in his way

Grammy and Grandpa's neighborhood hosted a costume parade and party the day before Halloween.  It was adorable and fun to see all of the creative costumes, and Matthew's and Meredith's were a big hit

There was even a firetruck for the kids to explore, although Meredith did not really like sitting up so high in the driver's seat

Star Wars was a fairly popular theme amongst the children.  Matthew assessed the scene to see whom he had to watch out for ;)

Anakin and Luke quickly discovered each other, but thankfully Anakin was still young and not yet on the path to becoming Darth Vader.

Luke and Anakin then teamed up to protect us from the other threats at the junction

 The parade begins!

Matthew took a turn in the driver's seat

Afterwards everyone moved to the playground/soccer field where there were games and snacks

Finally, the next day after running around Hill Ridge Farm, it was time for trick-or-treat!  Matthew showed Meredith the ropes at the first couple of houses.  She caught on extremely quick and charmed everyone who gave her candy.  After she was done (well, she would have kept going but Matthew was anxious to get out there with Grandpa-no girls allowed per his request), us girls passed out candy while Matthew and Grandpa went on their trick-or-treat quest

Meredith is lucky you didn't push her out of the fire truck! ;)

She wasn't trying to steal my turn at the steering wheel so I didn't need to push her...she knew better than to mess with me! Haha! Love you buttercup!
