Happy Spring!

We welcomed Spring in typical New York fashion-with temperatures in the 20's and snow.  There have been more and more sunny days, so at least  that's something ;)

Matthew explained to Meredith calmly that she needed to wear a hat and gloves because it was so cold out, then led her to me to get them on..it was cute watching him take care of his little sister 

Little Mommy

Meredith delights in taking care of her baby dolls, all of which are named "Baby".  She hugs, feeds, burps, puts to sleep, and changes them- just like a good little mommy.  Her baby must have run out of diapers this morning (hehe) because she was trying to put one of her diapers on it.  She now thrives on her independence and absolutely refuses to have me help her in anyway (unless countless minutes of trying/frustration finally cause her to give in my help), which means that getting her ready and trying to get out the door to go somewhere is quickly becoming a long process. Anyway, she did have patience and tenacity with the baby and diaper.  She sat there for a full 30 minutes gently trying to put the diaper on and only stopped trying because we needed to leave to pick Matthew up from school.

Happy 83 and 33 Birthday Great Nana and Matt!

We always love celebrating Great Nana's birthday and letting her know again that she is so special to us and that she is truly an amazing woman.  Meredith completely adores her! Also, we celebrated Matt's birthday as his is this Friday.  I'm planning on making Matt's favorite meal for him that night along with a cake :)

I kept some of Matthew's school work/projects from preschool last year and Matthew likes to go through everything periodically.  He involved Meredith this time and discussed with her how he did certain projects and why certain pieces were special to him.  She was captivated by her big brother :)  On a side note, Meredith has her two-year-old check-up yesterday.  She had one tear-free vaccine.  Her weight is now 26.4 lbs, putting her just below the 50% for weight, and is 35.5 inches tall, which puts  her in the 75% for height.  My little peanut is becoming not-my-little-peanut right before my eyes!

Total BFFs

Matthew and Meredith have always gotten along fine with each other, but over the past few weeks they have become completely inseparable!  They do everything together!  Matthew is extremely patient with her and thrives on teaching her new words, games, whatever.  He plays XBOX with her and will move his character and then explain to her how to work her controller while also moving her character without ever tiring of basically playing a two-person game by himself while she sits and watches :)
