The Kids' First Circus Experience

The Tigris Shriner's circus was in town this weekend and ever since Matthew heard the radio advertisement for it weeks ago has been begging to go, which was definitely a wish that I wanted to grant for him.  Brittney and Aykut joined the kids and I for the sold-out show, which added more fun and excitement by having them there with us.  Plus, Aykut must make a pretty comfy sleeping-spot because Meredith slept in his lap for about 90% of the show!

It was fascinating watching them set up for the three-ringed show

The Tigers started the show off with a roar ;)

Little Miss Sleepy Head was wide-awake for the striped, ferocious cats

The trapeze artists wowed us with their flips

The show included a plethora of mini-spectacles.  We saw everything from goats doing tricks to a comedian horse to elephants dancing and playing dead

The whole excitement wore her out quickly

During the intermission, games and activities were set up in the arena, such as face painting, pictures with a boa constrictor, pony rides, bouncy houses, and camel rides.  I asked Matthew which one thing he wanted to experience and after a little debate amongst himself between the pony rides and the camel ride, he unregrettably went with the camel

It will be fun to take the kids back next year!

Too fun. I bet they are still talking about the circus. As least you know they aren't afraid of clowns (which they should be, clowns are scary!)
