Memorial Day Swim and Cookout at Brittney and Aykut's
We are finally starting to get consistently nice weather, thankfully, and Brittney and Aykut were able to open their pool right in time for Memorial day. The water was only sixty degrees, way too cold for me to get in, but the kids didn't care one bit.
Meredith decided that her dolls needed to lounge next to the pool with her :)
Some neighbors of Brittney's came over with their kids, giving Matthew and Meredith some fun playmates. When Matthew and Luke first met, they chatted about various topics, such as Nerf guns and DSi games, before deciding that it was okay to play together
Lily and Luke have their own pool, so they showed Matthew how to be comfortable in the water. It worked too, because before we knew it he was swimming all around the pool by himself (with the life jacket on, but he did great!) I'm so proud of my little swimmer
Meredith hung out by the steps, which worked for me so I didn't have to venture into the freezing water
He definitely doesn't like the taste of pool water
Brrrrrrrr
After drying off and getting dressed, they all played doctor, with Meredith being the patient having four doctors check her out at once

Go Tigers!
The Bean has always enjoyed soccer practices, but when it came to the games, last fall he was disinterested in playing. However, at his first game of the Spring season he was an all-star champ! He was at the edge of his seat itching to get in to play whenever he wasn't playing and ran after the ball with a fierce determination. (he is #3 and is this first pic he is right next to the umpire in the yellow jersey)
He is the orange jersey in the back
He is kicking the ball back into play. I'm so proud of him!!!

Matthew's Birthday Party
The Bean had a lot of birthday festivities this year! He invited some of the boys from his class to come to his house for a party, along with Nana, Papa, Great Nana, Brittney and Aykut. The kids could not have had a better time running around with and playing with each other.
Talon was the first to arrive and just in time to inspect the new Nerf gun from Great Nana
Thankfully it turned out to be a beautiful day for the kids to play outside
Matthew L. and Matthew V ;)
It's fun how excited the kids are to have their gifts opened. Joey was especially thrilled
Jacob helped Matthew build the Star Wars Legos he gave him
Carson, one of Matthew's best buds
The party didn't stop once his friends went home- it was then time for the rest of the presents from Nana and Papa. If you anything fixed, just call handy man Matthew and he can use his very own real tool set to fix the problem, thanks Papa and Nana!
What a beautiful lady!
Future golf pro. Matthew can't wait to get to the driving range with Papa :)
