Father's Day At The Asheboro Zoo

Since the kids and I were in NC for Father's Day, we got to spend it with my Daddy :)  (something we have not been able to do for years!)  Per my Dad's request, Julie, Mom, Dad, Matthew, Meredith and I went to the zoo for a truly fun family-friendly day.  Thank goodness we had my Dad there to read the map otherwise we probably would have missed a bunch of animals and/or became lost!  (seriously though, it's a really big zoo!)

Meredith enjoyed the sea lions, however whenever we would tell her they were sea lions she would look at us like we were crazy and say "fishy, fishy" :)

Within the zoo was a very well done play area for the kids.  It was nice to sit down with some frozen lemonades and watch the kids play

It was a hot day that involved a lot of walking, but Matthew help up wonderfully, although I could tell he was relieved when we took the tram instead of walking to the other side of the zoo

We saw our first 4-D movie which I'm sure was neat.  I had to close my eyes the whole time because it made me sick-I should have been smart like my dad and waited outside while the ones who didn't get motion sickness saw the movie.  Matthew and Meredith enjoyed the movie, so that's what counts

I did wise up and let my mom and Aunt Julie take the kids on the carousel.  I love how excited Matthew and Meredith become with fun little activities like this :)

After spending a great Father's Day at the zoo, we headed back to Cary where it was my Dad's choice for dinner (as it was his day and all)-so we dined at the delicious Tomato Jake's Pizzeria, a perfect way to end the special day
