Our 2011 Christmas Tree

It took us two days to set up our tree this year, due to a lights malfunction and Matt begin called out for work, but we enjoyed both days of it and are happy with the final product

Only some of the lights worked when we plugged in the tree, which worked out for the better because we wanted to switch to colored lights this Christmas anyway

Matthew and Meredith got all of the ornaments out of their boxes and set them aside to put on the  tree-a job they loved and took very seriously

Day 2 of operation Xmas tree setup began with a bang and ended with a lovely, colorful tree

Happy Thanksgiving

Brittney and Aykut hosted Thanksgiving this year and we had a dynamite time :)  We all contributed to the feast (my stuffing and vegetable casserole were a big hit) and everyone left the table full and happy.

Don't let this picture fool you...Matt only took the turkey out of the oven, his mom did all the real turkey work ;)

The Recent Past

Here are some random moments from the past two weeks.  Matthew and Meredith have been into playing dollhouse together lately

Matt and Matthew watching a 3D movie on Papa's new 3D TV-they look like lazy bums, lol :)

Matthew and his friend Eve playing with some leaves while we were waiting for Matthew's school bus

Trick-or-Treat

The weather was great for trick-or-treating this year, unfortunately Matthew was feeling under-the weather.  He had been feeling sick all day but kept insisting that he still wanted to venture out.  He made it to three houses before asking to head back.  Matt took him back to rest (his fever spiked up to 103.7!) and Meredith and I continued on.  She discovered a new love for the whole holiday and exclaimed "trick-or-treating" to every person who opened the door to pass out candy.  She remembered her manners with every person and delivered a polite 'thank you'.  She didn't want to stop and the two of us filled up two buckets of candy-more than enough to share with her brother.  We missed Matthew the whole time and were bummed that he missed out :(
